Overwhelmed with money trouble? Learn practical tools to help gain financial freedom in this free, six-week interactive course. Childcare & activities provided.

Financial Freedom is possible with the right tools and intentional habits.  This six-week interactive course is for anyone striving for financial freedom.  Retired Certified Financial Planner Kathie Crabtree and Pastor David Hull-Frye explain the tools needed to obtain and maintain financial freedom. Registration is required. Please register for each session individually.   

This course will take place on the library’s lower level in the Graefe Room, which will be split to accommodate the workshop on one side and childcare and kids’ activities on the other. Childcare will be provided by volunteers from Grandview Methodist Church. The Cuyahoga Falls Library’s Children’s Department will lead children’s activities.  

Sept. 10 - Session 1: Basics of Budgeting 
 A personal budget is your lifeline to Financial Freedom.  Learn ways to create a budget that helps give financial freedom to you and your loved ones. 
  
Sept. 17 - Session 2: Til' Debt do us Part 
Don't let debt destroy your relationships. Learn about various debts and ways to break free of debt. 
  
Sept. 24 - Session 3: Freedom for the Unexpected 
Learn ways to prepare for unexpected financial burdens. 
  
Oct. 1 - Session 4: Freedom to Enjoy Life 
Learn about some financial freedom strategies for the various stages of life. 
  
Oct. 8 - Session 5: Freedom in Retirement 
Learn what to do now to help enjoy financial freedom in retirement. 
  
Oct. 15 - Session 6: Financial Freedom for Your Loved Ones + Course Completion Celebration 
Learn some of the basics of life insurance, wills, and all that other scary stuff. 
 
Kathie is a retired CPA and CFP with years of experience helping to equip others with the tools needed to enjoy financial freedom.  Kathie will share her fountain of knowledge useful on the road to financial freedom. 
David Hull-Frye is Pastor at Grandview United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls.  He has experienced firsthand the intimidating feeling of money troubles, and the process of enjoying financial freedom.  As a father and husband, David knows the struggles of putting food on the table, the stress money places on a committed relationship, the financial cost of raising two children in 2024 and the anxiety of an uncertain future in our country.  He'll share practical experiences to help you toward financial freedom. 

Pastor David and Kathie take a person-focused approach to addressing finances.  We don't use slideshows or pre-recorded videos.  We share our personal knowledge and experience.  We walk with you on your journey to financial freedom. We can't do it for you, everyone is at a different place in their journey. However, learn some ways to help accomplish this.  Our sessions are interactive, allowing time to celebrate accomplishments and address concerns.  We look forward to journeying with you.
